Sergey was born in a big family. After his father's death in 1964 all family moved to an old Russian town and cultural center called Penza.

Emotional and sensitive his child's soul appealed to the beauty and art what can be more magic and beautiful then nature... his love to nature was the reason to become a painter. Sergey drew from nature all the time he can remember himself, since early childhood.

In 1971 he entered the faculty of theater and stage art in the oldest Russian Penza Art school after K. Savitsky. He studies a lot and among many professional disciplines he learned he paid attention to Russian and world literature, classes of drama, art exhibitions. Having graduated from School Sergey started his career in Penza Drama Theater as a stage designer. At that period of time he continued painting in still life and landscape genre.

In 1982 Sergey moved to Saint-Petersburg. He was charmed by old architecture ensembles and museums enormous collections. Painter worked a lot in Siversky village, Leningradskaya oblast.

In 1984 Sergey and the group of other artists visited Valaam island. He was admired by the local severity and beauty. The emotions he got there became the basic theme for creative work for the next years.
Since 1994 Sergey started collaboration with Mart-Art gallery in Finland. He travelled a lot in Finland and created new masterpieces devoted to the beauty of this north country.

In 2004 among the group of artists he travelled repeatedly to Belomorye (The White Sea region in the Russian European north-transl.) Discovering and learning the beauty of the Russian North. He was admired and taken by the severe distinctive nature and open-hearted local inhabitants, their traditions and customs... new emotions and expectations make him coming here more and more again.

The artist now works in the city landscape genre. His artistic language is clear and familiar.
